From the 1880s to the 1970s, ice-cooled refrigerator cars carried meat and produce to market, and railroads built ice houses and platforms roughly every 250 to 300 miles so entire trains could be re-iced and back on the move in minutes. This kit recreates that busy, time-critical operation for your layout.

Item 933-3049 includes a detailed icehouse based on a prototype in Antigo, Wisconsin, plus a modular icing platform patterned on a Pacific Fruit Express design. The completed model with platform measures 18-1/2 x 6-1/4" (46.9 x 15.8cm), while the icehouse alone measures 4-3/4 x 10-3/4 x 5" (12 x 27.3 x 12.7cm).

Key Features:
- HO scale (1:87) plastic structure kit requiring assembly
- Item 933-3049 from Walthers Cornerstone
- Prototypical wooden icehouse from an Antigo, Wisconsin design
- Modular icing platform serves 24 ice blocks
- Optional platform roof and roof vents included
- Molded in appropriate colors with complete instructions
- Completed model with platform: 18-1/2 x 6-1/4" (46.9 x 15.8cm)
- Icehouse: 4-3/4 x 10-3/4 x 5" (12 x 27.3 x 12.7cm)
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0684/1312/8979/files/44bff9bc-1746-5fde-85ec-fd8adbbe281b.jpg?v=1793717562
